POSITION SUMMARY 
The Camp Administrator is responsible for organizing a summer program connecting client families with community recreation/day camp activities to provide a positive summer experience.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Provides a lead role in the accessing community programs
  • Researches and identifies community resources
  • Contacts and develops positive relationships with service providers of age-appropriate activities
  • Manages the program’s budget
  • Monitors spending and provides budget reports
  • Provides a final report summary
  • Exercises appropriate communication
  • Liaises with assigned child protection workers to ensure participation of identified families and provide feedback as needed
  • Provides direction and guidance to program Assistant
  • Exercises appropriate personal and professional behaviour
  • Adheres to professional and ethical standards and abides by applicable legislation, agency policies and procedures 
  • Builds health and safety into all aspects of performance
  • Actively upholds the principles identified in the Society’s Code of Ethics
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications

  • 2 years in Post Secondary Education (University or College)
  • Valid G Driver’s License and access to a reliable motor vehicle with appropriate liability insurance is required 

 General Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent ability to use MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.) 
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills
  • Solid knowledge of effective strategic planning, research, policy processes and evaluation techniques 
  • Solid planning, time-management, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Acts with integrity and trustworthiness
  • Excellent ability to work with and meet tight timelines
  • Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to communicate in French or another language an asset
 
Efforts and Working Conditions

  • Requirement to work evening and/or weekend hours based on need
  • Long periods of sitting and computer/phone use
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
